I am pretty sure I already know the answer to this question but in case I am wrong: is it possible for a?

Question:person to get a Masters degree in 6 months, and if they do not have a Bachelors degree can they still get a Masters degree?
I am in school right now for my Masters, the program I am in is a accelerated program and it will take me 2 yrs, I also have my Bachelors degree.
A person I know claims she has her Masters degree and got it in only 6 months, I know for a fact that she doesnt have a Bachelors degree! I think she is lying and in reality only has a certificate of completion for some classes she took.
anyone help with this?

Answers:
I'm with you - this doesn't sound like what I would consider a Masters. Maybe it's like a "Masters Ceritficate" or something from a trade school.

I really don't know of any program that would grant a Masters without a Bachelors first, or in a time period as short as 6 months.

I think your instincts are correct. She may have gotten some bogus masters degree online, but it definitely takes longer than 6 months and you do need your bachelors degree first.
well, it is possible and there are people who did finish in 6 months.however, they are probably famous by now for their achievements, so I agree that your friend is probably lying.
I don't see how what you say can be possible. I graduated in 1994 with a BA and it took me four years to achieve it as a full time student. Degrees take a minimum of two years as a full time student. The first is an Associate, topped with a Bachelor (generally two years later), topped with a Master's (usually two years later if working as a full time student) and the highest degree is a Doctoral which can be achieved if working as a full time student.
well i beleive ur right ...cause you forsure need ur bach. b4 ur masters.and the only way she ould do it in six months would be online...but i dont count that as a real degree personallyb
well, from an uncertified program, I'm surprised it took her that long.

but for any real degree, there is no way in hell that you can get a masters in 6 months.

unless it was an honorary degree, the minimum that I have ever seen (legitimate) is about 15 months (an accelerated MBA program with courses durring the summer).

but as for getting a masters w/o a bachelors, sure, that can really happen. it's just like getting a masters in passing when you go straight from undergrad to a phd program. exceptional candidates (like real savants, especially in math) can get a doctorate in their teens, without bothering to formally complete high school or college or a masters program.

it sounds like your friend probably would not fall into that category though.

but anyway, yea, what your friend is telling you is complete bs
