I really screwed up in high school is it possible to be accepted into a 4 year college with a 2.5 GPA?

Quite frankly, around my region, a 2.5 GPA is a cut-off line for college admissions. Unless your ACT/SAT scores are stellar, then it will be quite hard to get admitted. You can also consider community college and do well, then later transfer to an university.
Yes, even 2.0, for some colleges. Ask at the office for the major you want to start in, they will be able to guide you. Also, you can ask the transfer counselor. Another way to go is to attend a community college and get the highest GPA you can get.
Of course...I would suggest taking a few classes at a Community College and get your Associate Degree then go to a major college. Once they see your grades and GPA in the first two years at the Community College then will be more willing to accept you. Good Luck and just make sure that you take your first two years serious.
A G.P.A of 2.5 is not that bad. Did you take difficult classes? Did you take courses that are required for college? My daughter was short 1 Math course and was accepted conditionally to college. She completed the requirement for Math at O.S.U. and isn't conditional anymore. What school do you want to get in? Some colleges are very strict and others will take you if you are well rounded..not just by your grades but activities, volunteering, staying out of trouble, employment,connections...Look your college up on the net and you'll probably find-out what is expected. Don't give up. Many people are going into Tech. schools. They have different requirements too.
Of course it is. You will be limited on what you will get for financial scholarships but other than that there are no real obstacles. Many colleges/Universities have what is called guaranteed admissions programs which require a potential student to pass a certain number of credits with a specified GPA. Other ways to get in to a well known college is to attend a community college for a couple semesters and then transfer. Many schools have transfer agreements and some even have guaranteed transfer agreements meaning if the student takes a set number of courses or perhaps recieves an associates degree, the other (better known) school will accept them into a bachelors program.
I screwed off in high school, graduated with a 2.44 GPA ( I didnt know this until many years later) I went in the army for over 5 yrs and when a few years later decided I wanted to go to college. I started at the Community College and moved to a big name school nearby. I graduated with my first degree with a 3.67 GPA and my second with a 3.55 both while working full time, raising a child alone and serving on numerous local and nonprofit boards. Many of us blow off high school but I am living proof that it doesnt have to be the end of our educational pursuits or that we will not achieve in college if we choose to attend. (of course I hated high school because it was too easy not because it was too hard so that is a bit different than most I suppose)
Absolutely...I think a 2.5 will get you into a decent school..i mean, you may be at a little of a disadvantage, but im sure you'd be fine, do well on your ACT.
There will be several four-year colleges that will accept you, but there will also be several that do not.
Other factors colleges will consider will be your test scores, the difficulty of the courses you took, and whether or not you had or bad senior year (a bad senior year is a turn-off to some college admissions committees).
I would contact your guidance counselor or a teacher you trust to discuss your options.
Good luck
