Columbia University...?
Question:okay everyone has their dream college and this is mine. please tell me what else i have to do to get in. my race is mixed (asian-american) i'm goign to be a sophmore (10th) next year. right now my gpa is a 4.0 and i take all honors (except for the required classes which bring me down). next year i'll take my first AP (world history). i have a couple of ec's including piano for 11 yrs and awards to go with that..nhs and other school stuff and volunteer work. what else do i have to do to be considered competitive?

Wow you sound like you are on excellent track to be admitted to any school and it is very smart to start planning early. You should begin to think of how to distinguish yourself from all the other Asian-American honors students who will be applying with you.
One suggestion - think of something you want to do, and find a way to do it as an international volunteer for a summer. For example, if you want to go into business, spend next summer in Central America working with SMEs. If you want to do pre-med, volunteer with a health awareness project in SE Asia. These kind of projects show your commitment and the international experience is helpful. Good luck!
wow you're on a roll...you definately have a good shot at getting in right now, just make sure you do REALLY well on the SAT and the AP tests. good luck!
Colleges like to see well rounded students...do you do any community service like a soup kitchen? Also consider visual arts as well.
well if you do well on the SAT's then you should be considered competitive... in your junior year take pschology ap trust me... it is an excellent class. i got a c but i learned a load of information... it is a good classs... and good luck with the dbq's... they are really tough... unless you are good at writing..i mean alot of writing
Your doing so well your parents must be so proud. Don't worry just keep on doing what you are doing. Get information on your dream college and if the college wants SAT scores then do well on your SAT.
