Question:Aside from folding it up into a paper airplane and throwing it out the window?
Just curious about what is out there.
Answers:
Well, while my answer is probably very cliche, I started working as editor for a small southern magazine, then I became a teacher. I have been teaching now for 16 years, and enjoy it immensely. It was really just something I happed into while looking to transition into another career. However, an English degree opens up many doors in many worlds besides teaching and publishing. You could actually take your degree and work as a technical writer for a company. However, many small profits take advantage of people who have liberal arts degrees. Also, one of my classmates actually took their degree and became a television news reporter for a CBS affiliate in Detroit, MI. So, there are many things that can be done with a BA. While the traditional track is available, look for companies that are willing to train anyone who has a degree. A friend from graduate school works as a pharmaceutical rep and makes six figures. If you are not willing to travel the "traditional" route, create your own road less traveled.
