Hi Nancy, congrats on your achievement.
I understand that you will be a Financial Consultant with the Bancassurance channel of ICICI Pru Life Insurance. You would be typically assigned to a branch/few branches of a particular bank with whom ICICI Pru has tie ups with.
To put it in plain terms, your job will be that of an Insurance Advisor, soliciting insurance business for the company, from the customers of the bank you are assigned to. Whereas a normal Insurance Advisor can choose to go and contact anyone and everyone to market an insurance policy, your target universe will be restricted to leads generated from the said bank.
Again, selling insurance is very different from selling any other product. The rejection rates are very high, which could lead to frustration. You need to be extremely focussed and self motivated. But if you are successful, you could shine in any other sales profile.
But tell me something else, if you are so successful in this, why wouldn't you want to become an insurance advisor on your own, where rewards are much higher (monetarily).
