How is the the college application process different for people who took time off after high school?

Question:I took two years off after high school and was wondering how the college application process is going to be different than when i was applying as a senior.

Answers:
Yeah, it is no different. I went back after taking 4 years off (military duty). I actually had to go back to my highschool and ask for my transcripts. They still wanted SAT/ACT scores as well, so you'll need to track those down.

If you are like me, then the time off did you a lot of good. Life experience is something that really comes in handy in college. I find I am way more goal-oriented and disciplined than my classmates. Not just from being in the military, I just did some livin and now know exactly what I want. Professors will see that in you, and appreciate it.

Probably the same. Fill in the blanks, write the essays, send test scores, and write checks for the application fees.
Not different at all. Admissions officers like it when people take time off before college, as they tend to be more focused on their education when they come back. In your application essay, be sure to talk about the time off, how you've grown, how it's given you a clearer sense of how you want to contribute to the world, and how much better prepared you are now to be a successful college student.

Good luck!
