Are the NTE exams and the PRAXIS exams the same thing?

Question:I have taken and passed the PRAXIS exams, but in an application, I am asked if I have taken the NTE's. I haven't, but I am wondering if because I took the PRAXIS, i don't HAVE to take the NTE's.

Answers:
Yes you are correct that since you have taken the praxis you do not have to take the NTE. I'm not sure you can even take the NTE anymore. It is old version. I have been a teacher for about 13 years and I had to take it. But now the younger teachers coming out of college take the Praxis. It is probably an older version of their application. Good luck on getting a teaching job!
