Is an 1180 a good SAT score?

I'm assuming that you're only counting the reading and math sections; in that case, it is a pretty lame score.
However, if you're counting all three, then you really need your brain checked out.
It's above average. The mean score is 1046.
Does that include all three sections (out of 2400) or only math and critical reading (out of 1600)
out of 1600, it's a respectable score, out of 2400, it's pretty sad.
Taken in the senior year, it represents that about 65% of the test-takers are "dumber" than you and 35% are "smarter." It should get you into most public and private colleges and universities, but not any of the big names or selective schools.
If the score comes from the 7th grade Talent Search program, it's a great score.
It's not too bad.
