Any good study methods out there?

Question:finals are coming up for me -- and i always crash and burn when it comes to hardcore study. any help or tips?

Answers:
The best single advice for memorizing anything is to study in a way that appeals to as many senses as you can. By seeing, hearing, feeling, and even smelling your material, you reinforce it in your brain. My brother is really good at memorizing things.

Here are a few things you can do:
Make a song out of some of the info.
come up with an acrostic
reveiew it a lot of times
Use flash cards
Draw pitcures
write the info. out many times.
Read it aloud
Record saying it and then listen to it

it is also said that studing on yellow paper helps.
before the test eat peppermint and a little lemmon juice
I hope this helps!

You have to be business-like about it.

I would do my ritual (get a candy bar--the sugar is good for the brain, and a coke or something), plop down at whatever table I was using (has to be big to accommodate my books and notebook paper) and get to it. I would study for 2 hours and then my brain would just not focus. Exactly 2 hours. Strange. So I'd take a short break, get some more to drink, then go back to it and study another hour or so. then do something else for a while, then back to it.

I have great reading comprehension, but I find I have to take notes, AND draw pictures of what I'm reading. Those charts and pictures saved me. I could remember them because I had to take the words and translate the meaning into a picture, and doing that cements it in your mind really well.

Mneumonics are also a terrific aid. I don't retain stuff that long, but certainly long enough for the test. Look up mneumonics on the internet to find out examples.
