Is 1590 a good SAT score?

it is out of 2400, so it is okay. I believe 1538 is the national average, so you are a little bit above it. You need a score a little more competitive to get into good colleges. I am sure when you take it a second time, you will do even better! Just get an SAT book, and maybe even a tutor to help you with the sections you scored lowest on!

Definitely! That is almost a perfect score. You should be able to get into any college with that. Way to go!
if I remember correctly 1600 is a perfect score so I'd say yes 1590 is a pretty damn good score, if you actually got a 1590 don't you think you should know whether it was a good score, honestly, are you just bragging or making it up?
That is near perfect score! If you are being serious then you probably have a genius level IQ and you should apply to wherever you want.
good score...but if you didn't know that your better off at your local Taco Bell than any university

Slow up there, folks! The SAT scoring system was changed recently to reflect a new written exam. 1600 is no longer the highest score you can achieve. 1590 is a good score, but identifies room for improvement.
whoah careful everybody...the next full score is out of 2400, so 1590 is a few levels above average. plenty of space for improvement.
if its your first time, aim for say, a 1700 next time. nothings impossible...i improved from 1410 to 1900 in a little more than a year w/ independent study [plus, dont think i studied like every night...a few practice questions and reading a week will do]
It's not bad, it's only 90 points above average though. Average is 1500, but keep trying and take it until ur satisfied with the score

It's not too great, I would consider retaking the SAT. I got 2 perfect scores in math and reading, but my writing score was only 720, for a total of 2320. I only read this SAT guide, and that is how I got such high scores:
