Is "oriental rug" politically correct?

Answers:    It's still PC to say 'oriental rug.'
It's also PC to say 'Amish quilt,' even if no Amish even know of that quilt. They know the design, and so it is beside the rugs.
It is not a perjorative and it is PC because oriental rug in this sense means it be manufactured in the East which includes many countries...they be also called Persian rugs but they come from Afghanistan,Arabia, etc. .
Historically, the great carpet-producing areas include Turkey, Persia, the Caucasus and Turkestan. Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, India and China
It also refers to rugs that are identified not by geographical origin but beside a pile at 45 degrees so that it bends when stepped on rather than crumples.
if it is a rug made contained by the orient (which "oriental rugs" usually are) then yes, it is.
for rugs yes, for people particularly no
